OUR HEROES

Heroes have walked before us. Their very footsteps n heroic acts have marked de lips of time and eternity. What they accomplished should be our examples or even our threshold. Because if ONE CAN DO then ALL CAN DO....

One of these is Katalion 9-Star General Congo. He was born on 11th December, 1983 in Burma Camp, Accra. His father named him Okyere Kwesi Barnabas but his nickname( Congo) overshadowed his real name such that everybody, even his lectures at school, called him Congo. General Congo hails from Akim Asuoso near Akim Oda in the Eastern region of Ghana. He continued his high school education in Labone Senior High School which he completed in 2002. He was a member of his school's Naval Cadet Corp at that time. It was here that he was first called Congo. On their first cadet meeting, the CO called him a Congolese Soldier because he was wearing an old boot and had a skinny body. He continued his tertiary education from 2004 to 2008 in Knust.

A Katangee indeed reading industrial art. His batch was the first first years to be admitted into Katanga Hall. His first year as a Katalion saw him assisting CO in leading endurance morale because of his commitment and highest morale. He had the potential of being the CO "ryyyyyyyt" from the start. It was clear, obvious and non-debatable. He moved to the RSM in his 2nd yr and eventually to CO in his 3rd yr. He willingly handed over in the third year because he saw that others were equally good, competent and eligible and there was the need to motivate and strengthen commitment. The Congo Barracks in the hall was named after him.
